The Glass House – Transparency and Contemplation in Nature
Set in a completely natural environment, the Glass House is conceived as a retreat for rest and meditation. Its essence lies in the use of glass on all façades, creating a direct connection between the interior and the comfort offered by nature.
The project integrates a smart glass system that can automatically or manually tint white, ensuring 100% visual privacy without the need for curtains. This allows the home to embrace transparency while maintaining intimacy.
Architecture & Form
The floor plan is organized into two rectangular blocks joined by a diagonal section. This gesture breaks away from classical orthogonality, creating a directional flow that becomes the tympanum of the house. This block contains the bathroom and walk-in closet, while the surrounding areas are enclosed with glass.
Formal Expression
More than a dwelling, the Glass House is perceived as a contemporary sculptural piece. Its angular form:
Breaks the monotony of a simple rectangular volume.
Suggests movement and direction.
Invites exploration from multiple perspectives.
With a single bedroom and a contemplative character, the Glass House is a space where architecture, nature, and technology converge to create harmony, transparency, and serenity.
