Santa Fe Residence – Oceanfront Harmony in Havana

The Santa Fe Residence, located in a coastal town of Havana, is conceived as a custom oceanfront home where architecture and landscape merge to celebrate the beauty of the sea and its sunsets. Elevated one meter above the ground to protect against flooding, the residence opens toward the ocean, offering panoramic views and a constant dialogue with nature.

Its spatial sequence begins with a foyer and a glass-roofed hallway containing a reflecting pool. This design creates a prismatic play of light and water, shifting with the sun and guiding residents toward a generous social space that combines living, dining, and kitchen areas.

With six bedrooms, including a master suite overlooking the pool and ocean, the home balances privacy and gathering. Large windows connect the interiors to outdoor terraces, gardens, and an elevated pool alongside the house. Reused formwork wood is transformed into a deck and pier, extending toward the reef and culminating in a viewpoint for sunset contemplation.

Tropical vegetation is woven throughout, and the rooftop deck becomes a landscaped terrace, reinforcing the residence’s commitment to sustainability.
