Weekend Home: Brutalist Minimalism in Naples, Florida

The Weekend Home in Naples, Florida, is a custom residence designed as a sanctuary of peace and simplicity. Surrounded by nature, it contrasts with the intensity of urban life, offering a retreat where architecture and landscape exist in harmony.

Rooted in brutalist architecture, the house embraces concrete as its primary material. Strong and enduring, it provides protection while ensuring longevity and minimal maintenance. Yet behind its solid exterior lies a minimalist interior defined by open, essential spaces that foster calm, reflection, and a deeper connection to life’s fundamentals.

The design adapts to the site’s natural topography, stepping down across three levels to reduce environmental impact. This integration creates a seamless dialogue between the built structure and the surrounding hillside.

Inside, the layout balances social and private spaces: a living-dining-kitchen area encourages gathering, while two bedrooms with private bathrooms provide quiet retreats. Outdoor living is extended with a deck and pool, blurring boundaries between indoors and outdoors.

The Weekend Home is more than a residence—it is a refuge. By combining brutalism and minimalist design, it creates a resilient, timeless environment where simplicity, nature, and well-being take center stage.
